* Batteries Not Included (1987)

Brad Bird is really talented. He is the person
behind The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, and
Ratatouille. Another great movie of his is *
Batteries Not Included. People don't talk about it
as much, but it's a great movie. It's about these
miniature alien spaceship creatures that come to
New York. Don't worry. They don't come to kick
ass. This brownstone building of different
families take care of them. There is a young
couple with a baby {The woman is a blazer} a
cool custodian who has speech issues, and an
old couple. The old woman {Jessica Tandy} is
not only old, but crazy as well. Their landlord is
a drunk ass hater and bastard, and their
community is in danger of being paved over. I
picture it taking place where they want to build
that annoying stadium for the Nets when they
come to Brooklyn. This is a good movie full of
imagination and thrills. I loved it as a kid. I saw
it in the movie theatre and it was pretty crazy for
me. Sometimes when you are a kid and you go
to the movies, it feels like someone has launched
you into space because the movie is really good
and the screen is really large. This was one of
those times for me. I saw it another time when I
had a strong cold as a kid, and it was even
crazier. I saw it recently. It holds up. I like it as
an adult. I respect this movie as a classic.
